How do I prevent getting any more loose skin and get rid of current loose skin?

I am a 16 year old male and have lose 40 pounds within 4 months. Instead of losing the reccomended amounts of 1-3 pounds a week I have been losing 4-5 pounds a week. I started out at 231 I am now 191. I fear I have lost lean muscle tissue in some areas. Even though I have increased protein intake (with bars and shakes) and the amount of resistance training. I also started eating less. Going from 2600 calories making my way gradually to 1900-2000 calories. I also started exercising 2 and a half to 3 hours a day. I feel that I am getting loose skin. Some of it is getting stretchy like a rubberband. Any suggestions or professional opinions welcome!

How do I prevent getting any more loose skin and get rid of current loose skin?
Take 1-3 grams of Fish Oil daily. It helps with elasticity. Keep up the good work!
Reply:Well the best thing would be to lose the weight slowly so your skin can adjust itself. You should also take vitamins C, E and Biotin and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Also try skin firming lotions that contain Collagen and Elastin

Plastic reconstructive surgery for loose skin after weight loss?

I lost 100 lbs, and now i have a lot of loose skin i would like to get removed. What is the name of that procedure, and what is the price range for something like that? Anyone with personal experience of that surgery have any opinions on if its worth it, or how long recovery time is, or how painful it is? thanx!

Plastic reconstructive surgery for loose skin after weight loss?
I want one too! Abdominoplasty is what I think it's called. My mom had one and I never even knew. She did it one day while I was at school and a couple months later I saw her stomach and said "Hey, the baby bag went away!". She was never even in bed or anything
Reply:Most health insurance companies don't cover plastic surgery.. However, I've heard that if you claim that it's affecting your health... IE mental anguish, you can't function day to day it might be covered.. I've heard that it's painful, but manageable... I would talk with a healthcare professional and find out what your options are..Diet/exercise are a must... Congrats on the weight loss....Good luck
Reply:adominalplasty or Full Tummy Tuck...its a major surgery and I've had one. I had a huge weight loss form childhood that left this tummy lookin like hell......they can copst anywhere from 8k to 16k deending on the doc, location of poffice, hospital stay needed, etc. You should at least 3-5 consults and do not let the price determine your surgeon....you get what you pay for. They also do muscle repair and pull the laxed muscle togther again using a suture which is permanent. It was worth it completely....I'm very happy and would do this again. The pain wasnt bad just when i sneezed or coughed and was off work for a week. Research this some more....there are very serious risks when doing this and you not on;ly know the risks but how the operration id performed.....you have allot of swelling for up to a year and it takes a good year to completely heal.

Is it fat or loose skin?

I have lost 15 pounds and the sides on my ribs have thin rolls. I am 22, weigh 125, and 5'5. I can't get rid of them? Do you think it is fat or loose skin? How do I get rid of them? Should I wait and give it more time to see if they go away or should I get surgery? Thanks!

Is it fat or loose skin?
Congrats on losing the weight! I think it may be loose skin. How long ago did you loose the weight? If you lost it recently, I would give it time before it shrinks. If you lost it a few years ago, most likely you might have to get surgery to remove the excess skin. If you are still not sure, you can see a surgeon and get a consultation and they can help you there.
Reply:LOOSE FAT BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT REALLY LOOSE SKIN
Reply:i would definitely give it time, there's no reason to rush into surgery! not that i even think you should have surgery.

its probably just loose skin. give it time to shape to your body.
Reply:probably loose skin that's what i have but then again I'm 14
Reply:i think its normal for everyone to have at least a little meat?? if you mean you get lil skin folds when you sit down ...its normal...if we didnt have skin how would we do anything..skin needs to be flexable .....and if we were just skin and bones it would be painful haha...your really skinny 125 5'5 is perfect.

Lost lotsa weight, now bugged by loose skin?

Waah. Last year I lost 70 lbs and now, I'm stuck with loose skin particularly on my lower belly. Its embarassing. The stretchmarks are also bad. My skin is lose that I believe my nipples are a bit too low. Is there anything that can help my skin with the lack of firmness and the presence of stretchmarks?

Lost lotsa weight, now bugged by loose skin?
methinks Surgery is the only option,
Reply:Looks like you have managed to loose weight only on the basis of either cardio or diet or both. You need to do some weight training. When you loose wieght you also loose certain amount of muscle which causes loose skin. In order to maintain a firm body you need to build those muscles and grow them. For this you require weight training.
Reply:well done on the weight loss!. i have just loss 56 lb myself,it's hard.my doctor advised me to drink lots water, and swim in order to keep skin supple.he says the only way to remove the excess skin is surgery.i think it is a fairly simple procedure.i dont know of any other way, sorry!
Reply:Poor boy.

I went from a flat, pre-pubescent chest and no hips to an all too well rounded figure with c cups between 6th and 7th grade. You really wanna talk about stretch marks? No one's skin is meant to grow that fast.

If you are young enough the skin will, essentially, shrink. Even in your twenties and thirties. What happened was you lost the weight too fast and your skin couldn't keep up.

The stretch marks will fade. It may take a few years but they will become so vague that only you will notice them.

When I was 13 my breasts were ribbed like frickin' corduroy. Now even I have to actually try to search out the stretch marks.

Skin just takes longer to heal and adjust.

If you are older then you may need surgery to get rid of the extra skin. Past our thirties it just doesn't have the same ability to adapt. If you've tanned a lot or smoked a lot it can also impact your skins ability to heal.

Feel good about the weight you have lost. Feel good about what that has done for your health as well as your self-image. Don't let yourself get all weighed down by skin. If you can't feel good about yourself because of extra skin then the scars you get from surgery will be your new insecurity.

How to loose forty pounds and not have your neck have loose skin when you are in your fifties.?

I am loosing weight and I have noticed women who loose alot look awful as their skin hangs around their neck. Is there something I can do other then surgery? If that happens to me?

How to loose forty pounds and not have your neck have loose skin when you are in your fifties.?
I'm at the door step of fifty, and I heard there were exercises to help with throat/neck. I did them for months, and I got muscle in my sag, not to mention a pain in the neck.

Losing weight will make you feel better, and if you feel better you'll be able to overlook the sag.

Well, not really, but you will still feel better. We are often too hard on ourselves for things we cannot change or accept.
Reply:I would ask your doctor, or just get like a pill to help you, cause I know some people that had lost like 45 pounds and then took this pill and they don't have saggy skin, it is tight, well not as tight as like a 20 year old but like a 30 year old.. Hope I could help...
Reply:it really depends on the persons skin and how fast they lose the weight. you should try a skin firming system like doves (body wash, lotion) and work weight lifting into ur work out it tones ur body. ive lost about 50 lbs and my skin is actually firmer than before. good luck i hope i helped somewhat
Reply:lipo and facelift
Reply:I don't know about sagging skin. I am a woman of 42, I have a body of a 18 year old. Since the age of 18 I always had a memership to a spa or club. I would exercise 3 to 4 hours cardio, weights, 600 to 800 crunches, back routine. All the people I worked out were 35 to 50 and they were 100% more fit then the 18 year olds that I see on the street. I am shocked when I see these young kids with bellys that look their 6 monthes pregnant. easy for me to say this since I have six pack abs.

How can i tighten the loose skin on my face?
Depending on how just how loose it is one thing that seems to really work in giving a more toned look and tightening effect is to use one of those home dermabrasion kits where it creates a vibrating action and you use some facial creme with it that exfoliates. Hope this helps.
Reply:Stop double posting. That will clear it up.
Reply:This works. Coa coa butter and facial exercises. Try Carole Maggio's book Facercise. Also drink plenty of water to keep your skin plump.

How can i rid of loose skin?

i've recently been working out and started noticing some loose skin.....im mucsle training so that the skin attaches to my mucles but what about the rest,,,,is there a cure besides sugery

How can i rid of loose skin?
First of all dca20033… your a bloody idiot mate, go on the internet, and get your facts right - Gaining more muscle will eventually reduce loose skin - Skin is very elastic and will generally contour your body over time, however to remove all loose skin - one must reduce there body fat %, if you look at ANYONE, that has lost a considerable ammount of weight, and has achieved a body fat % below say 10%, will they have loose skin? no

More Cardio is the answer, the more fat you burn, the tighter your skin will get, its that simple - Surgery is a last resort, not the first, and only option you have - Creams also help - Good luck
Reply:That is the only cure%26gt; Surgery%26lt;..........

Will i have loose skin?

Anyways im 17 350lbs and im going on a raw food-vegan diet with exercising, and i was wondering if im gonna have some flab, or loose skin after i get to my ideal weight.

Will i have loose skin?
depends on how fast you lose it.... and how elastic your skin is..... and how much weight you lose...... but if you lose weight slowly and weight train you should be fine....
Reply:what's your ideal weight?

i was 194 and lost 55 pounds.

and let me tell you...dont't try those weird diets, buy some weight watchers foods and get LOTS of veggies and join a gym to keep you modivated.

good luck

it can be done, take it from me.
Reply:well yes you will for a while but aslong as you keep exersizing your skin will tighten up.
Reply:lose the weight in a healthy way. You MIGHT have a little loose skin, but not as much as you would if you were losing the weight at an unhealthy rate (aka drugs, starvation)
Reply:If you lose weight at a safe rate (approx. 2-3 lbs a week), you shouldn't have any problems. Take Vitamin E supplements to help keep your skin healthy and use lotion daily.

Also, vegan diets are horrible because there is nothing equivalent to animal protein in the plant kingdom. There is soy protein but that has the bad side effect of upping your estrogen lebels. Atleast use whey protein to keep healthy.

Well, he would turn down the vegan diet because it is not that great. I can understand if you are vegan for religious reasons, but just up and deciding to be a vegan is really rather dumb. Your body is going to go into withdrawals from no meat and you are going to have some major digestive problems for the first few weeks. I would suggest keeping your same diet and upping the exercise.
Reply:First of all, GOOD FOR YOU! That's so wonderful. You're going to feel so good about yourself and you'll be healthier, too. If you have a bit of loose skin, who cares? You will look awesome after shedding that weight. I would just concentrate on getting healthy and not on your skin. Take each issue one step at a time. And I wish you all the BEST.
Reply:First off, have you discussed the raw-food vegan diet with your doc first? If you are going to be exercising, you need to talk to a doc or nutritionist about what your body will need to maintain good health and energy, especially if your body is accustomed to meats and carbs regularly. You should not have too much excess skin if you lose weight steadily (~2.5 pounds a week is considered good). Your height really dictates how much extra skin you will have as well as your weight. You will have significantly more if you're 5'4" than you will if you're 6'0". If this is completely new to you, get to a doc for some professional advice first, you want to get healthy, not hurt. Good luck.
Reply:First of all I commend you on your initiative on wanting to lose the weight. I was over 260 lbs. and I am only 5'5" so I feel for your concern. Before you even set an ideal weight, you really should talk to an expert, whether it be a nutritionist, a doctor, or a trainer at gym. There could be some really bad side effects from going the route you're talking about, especially if you do not get your heart checked out first. I seriously recommend consulting with a doctor because there is no easy way unfortunately. It's all about balance and being patient. About the flab and the loose skin, it's going to be there along with the stretch marks. But believe me, you will look and feel alot better when you look in the mirror and see what you've accomplished.

Is it possible to not have loose skin after a 20 year old guy lose's weight?

you have to lose the weight slowy. people have loose skin beacuse they drop the weight, and don't give their boodies enogh time to distibute, or compinsate.
Reply:at 20 most of the skin should be able to shrink back to normal but you will have streach marks
Reply:Exercise everyday like jogging around the block

Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day

Dont eat until you're full

Eat fruits at night if your hungry.

Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

Will i have loose skin?
not if your dieting and exercising. Exercise will tighten the skin if its lipo suctiong or something like that then most likely
Reply:You might, and you might not. It all depends on your genetics. But you're very young, so chances are you won't have any loose skin.

Good luck, and remember, crash dieting is BAD. Eat healthy and exercise regularly.

Reply:not if you working out
Reply:No, your still growing and if you do toe up with a little exercise.
Reply:no you should excerise and it will help tone up your body as you lose weight
Reply:You have to do steady exercise to keep your skin tight when losing weight. Just make sure when you exercise you dedicate at least an hour for every 4 hours of cardio workouts to weight training. Keep it light weight so you can do lots of reps but make sure you are really feeling it after 12-16 reps because if it is too light the exercise will do nothing for you. Mixing up the cardio and weight training sessions will give you a really toned look and keep your skin from hanging if done right.
Reply:no you will loose the fat,,
Reply:if you lose weight very rapidly you will have loose skin yes, but keeping a high level of hydration and exercising will help tighten that skin up
Reply:yeah, if you lose it fast but it you tone and build muscle it shouldn't be bad at all.
Reply:If you do it abruptly, most probably you will have loose skin. But if you do it gradually there's no trace of it.

Has anyone had success with loosing loose belly skin after weight loss/pregnancy?

I am 22. I am 5'7" and will probably weigh 270 after I have my little girl in 5 weeks. I have a 15 month old as well and I gained 70 lbs with her and 40 with this one...my stomach already hangs down quite a bit at the bottom and I am 35 weeks pregnant. I want to lose the weight(100-120lbs) after baby, but I was wondering if surgery is my only answer to get rid of loose skin after the weight loss. Has anyone lost the skin or most of it?...I am only 22 I dont want my stomach to hang way low. :( Please help me.

The best and easiest way is to join a fitness challenge...extra movitvation.

The Xooma Challenge is a good one: www.thexoomachallenge.com (great supplements!)

Reply:I have two 15.5 months apart; my second is now 5 months old. I have lost the majority of it, but also saw a physical therapist. The biggest culprit of the "belly sag" is the transverse muscles which lose their muscle memory. You may need to hire a personal trainer to re-establish those muscle groups, I had to see a physical therapist for 10 weeks who helped me. Six months later, I have only an inch or so left that is hanging - I'll wait another six months before I even worry about it at all - I'm too busy with my boys to care!

So yes, exercise will help a lot! But I only weighed 170 when done (gained 55 pounds with my second, I'm 5'4")

I have some loose skin??what can i do??
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.
Reply:You should tone your body.

Toning your body will firm and tighten your skin.

Do excersixes, like swimming and weight lifting.

That will build you some muscles and tone your body.

Do it each excerise at least 30 mins per day.

Good luck

Pl. do excersices in guidness of coach.

Will I have loose skin?

I've a few concerns about losing weight. I'm a 26 year old 5'6" female who currently weighs 241 lbs. My goal weight is 150. I have a large frame and am above average for the amount of muscle mass that I have. My question is, do you think after a 90 pound weight loss that I'll be left with a ton of loose skin?

I've never been pregnant and have no health problems other than being overweight.

Will I have loose skin?
Most people who lose 50-100 pounds tend to have some loose skin, but it depends on a few factors:

1. Depends on how quickly you lose the weight. If you lose the weight at a steady normal pace, say 2 pounds a week, you are less likely to have as much loose skin.

2. Use of firming lotions/vitamin E: skincare lines like Dove, Aveena, Neutrogena, etc have lotions which contain vitamin E and other things that will help your skin to be resiliant and firm, which can help your skin to not hang as much.

3. Exercising while losing: if you lose weight simply from diet, you are more likely to have loose skin. If you include cardio and strength training though, you will have less problem with hanging skin.

Unfortunately however, it is hard to avoid the loose skin entirely. Depending on how severe the looseness is after you've met your goal, and depending on how important it is to you, you may opt to have simple cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. The operation is very common and can help you to get rid of it and feel better about yourself.

In conclusion, there are some things you can do to have LESS loose skin after you lose those 90 pounds, but I think you will still have some.
Reply:It will hang like a skirt
Reply:You will gain a great body and a healthy lifestyle. I think that the loose skin should be the least of your worries. Good luck!
Reply:only way to avoid loose skin during %26amp; after weight loss is to exercise whilst losing the weight.

Furthermore if you eat well and exercise your body will naturally drop the kilos. Dramatic and quick weight loss will cause stretch marks, as the skin hasn't had the chance to adapt to the reduced surface area it needs to cover.

Best advice - exercise, eat well - the weight will fall off and you will be happy with the end result.
Reply:a little. You can do exercises that, tone it up though.

Will i get loose skin?

For a teenage girl who isnt overweight but wants to lose just a few kg is there any chance of getting loose skin or am i young enough to keep it tight?

Will i get loose skin?
As long as you are not starving your self to loose the weight and you are exercising and don't loose too much too fast you shouldn't get any lose skin.

Weight loss and loose skin?

I'm 6'4" and currently weigh 250. I have weighed between 220 and 280 in adulthood. Has anyone lost a large amount of weight? I am curious if their skin was "loose" afterwords. I am talking about going from 280 back to 210 or 220.

Weight loss and loose skin?
you will have some loose skin on your body after wards and not matter how much you exercise you can't tone it up that much sorry but it is the true. I have lost over 200 lbs and I still have loose skin 20 yrs later it is not bad but it does stop me from getting into a two piece swimsuit. You can have it removed if you want but it is painful and very costly for what it is. Myself I look at mine as badges of honer myself I work hard to get rid of the weight and earned everyone of those stretch marks and lose skin.

no your skin will fit with your body, you wont turn out like fat bastard on austin powers
Reply:I used to weigh almost 310, now I am 255, but I am built and lift weights, so I have no loose skin, but have just about another 30 lbs. to lose though, but as long as I keep workig out I dont see why there should be loose skin, but a person can have loose skin after a lot of weight loss. if you do, dont be ashamed, it is a testament to how much weight you lost. if you want, try going to the gym and building up muscle, so it isnt just skin. good luck. and congrats on the weights loss I know how much of a pain in the *** it is.
Reply:if you exercise the skin will stay tight so youll have no problems
Reply:If you lose it fast by starvation you might get some loose skin, but if you exercize and eat right and lose weight the right way I think most of your skin will shrink, but you will have some stretch marks, but who cares you will look and feel so much better.
Reply:You get the "loose" skin from not exercing your fat, so if went on a diet and just stopped eating or ate very little , then that makes your fat loose. in order to lose weight you need to burn it off by keeping active and eating healthy =) hope this helped

How long does it take for loose skin to retract?

Im 19 years old, 6'6" and 250 lbs. Between the ages of 15 and 17 I gained weight and ended up around 350lbs. In the summer of 2006 is when I started to work out and lose weight. During this time I drank mostly water, ate better and went to the gym for an hour at least 6 days a week. Im still working out 6-7 days a week but since winter break I have now switched to more weight training since I am nearing my target weight. My biggest problem is I have quite a bit of loose skin.

Ive been able to fill in my arms and most of my legs with muscle but still have alot of loose skin on my stomach and some other areas. Ive looked around alot on the subject and I have found that alot say that surgery may be the only option but thats not an option for me now. Ive taken to using cocoa butter daily so if nothing else it will help with stretch marks and I drink about a gallon of water a day but what else could I do and since im still young how long should it take to retract at least a good amount?

How long does it take for loose skin to retract?
You have Stretch marks so this skin is permanently damages %26amp; wont retract.

The problem is if you are big for long periods the skin over stretches and wont recover.

Just ask any woman who has given birth %26amp; has stretch marks.

So I'm Sorry from what you have said then its not going to recover.

Just to be sure ask your Doc next time you see him/her
Reply:Honestly, it can take up to a year. If you've got loose skin still, it may really be time to save for that surgery.

How do I get rid of loose skin after weight loss?

In the course of 1 year I have lost 70 pounds, normally I'd be happy but I have loose skin, and it makes me look like an old man. I am 17, but I look 80 with the loose skin. So how do I get rid of it?

How do I get rid of loose skin after weight loss?
In time, a good portion of the extra skin may well just be retightened against your body, since the extra mass is no longer stretching it. Although, if you have stretch marks anywhere, that skin will likely remain loose and there's no real sure-fire way to get rid of it other than surgical measures. (Although if they're new stretch marks i.e. only a few months old and still bright red as opposed to years old and faded to white or pale pink, they too may just fade away and be reabsorbed with time.)
Reply:Surgery is the only way
Reply:Tone up, it will take a while to get it where you want it but exercise is the only way unless you have the money for surgery im assuming that you dont since you didnt pay for lipo to lose the weight.

Will I get loose skin?

I have about 40 pounds to lose and I am 15 years old. And to be honest, I've been losing at a rate of 3-4 pounds per week so far (I'm in week 2 of my diet plan).

Will my age have any effect on how much loose skin I get?

Will I get loose skin?
The younger your skin, the more elasticity it has. At your age, you will be just fine. Don't worry about it. People who have loose skin are those who are older and lose a lot of weight real fast-gastric by-pass surgery. Three-four lbs. a week is pretty fast, but some diets work like that. Be sure to eat healthy and realize that this is not just an eating habit, but a lifetime change. Congratulations!

How do i get rid of loose skin around my tummy?
Once losing alot of weight it is very hard to lose the excess skin. The best thing that can be done is a tummy tuck. I hope you get what your looking for and congrats!
Reply:just tek some scissors to it skin cuts off pretty easy
Reply:Depending on your age and how much you lost, the skin will not go back, it will hang and needs to be surgically removed. You can try crunches and sit ups and drink skim milk and eat oranges, some people say that helps if your still young.

Good Luck and congrats on the loss.
Reply:do leg lifting every day and increase the numbers you could perform each day. you can also do sit-ups because it excercises the stomach muscles. lastly, you can try applying firming lotion.
Reply:crunches can tighten u up
Reply:try to lose weight more slowly. it gives your skin time to catch up. also, do sit ups and crunches.
Reply:Lose weight slower, it will give your skin enough time to flatten. Also, build muscle in the area to tighten it, and work out some of your upper body, it may give the illusion of a tighter stomach by pulling the excess skin away from the abdominal region.
Reply:Tummy tuck baby!

Just make sure it's done by a expert... and don't forget to tell the surgeon that you still want to wear a bikini so they can put the stitches in places hidden from view... = )
Reply:See a doctor and get advice from him.

I was 300lbs in Sept. 06

Changed my ways and am now down to 235.

I use to be in shape when i was 14-17, put alot of weight on for football.

I want to get back down to around 200lbs.

im a 6'2 20year old man.

I eat healthier and exercise alot.

But I still have alot of flabby fat.

Its mostly in my stomach area and sides.

Welp, loose skin is usually VERY thin and practical has no fat at all or feels thick. Fat feels thicker and is well, fat.
Reply:still kind of a wait and see game. with the stretch marks, there has to be some loose skin. good luck on your program.
Reply:First of all, Congratulations!!!

Men's fat tends to ride around their waist area, and this is the most difficult part to get back into shape. The fat cells there are often the first to grow, and the last to go. It takes even longer for the skin to realize that it does not have to cover as much anymore.

To determine if it's skin or fat, do a little pinch test. For a reference, first pinch a little skin on the back of your hand, or inside of your wrist. These two places generally do not have fatty deposits, so now you know what just skin is like. Now do the same at your waist, stomach, and back of your arms. Without actually measuring with a calipers, you cannot determine how much fat is present, but it will give you some idea. Your doctor, or possibly a sports trainer could help you determine your body mass index (percentage of body fat). I trust you are working with a doctor on your weight loss program.

Keep up the good work. Remember that when trying to lose weight and get in shape, it is very common to reach plateau phases where nothing seems to change no matter how hard you work at it. Give yourself some time off for good behavior, and a pat on the back . You have accomplished quite a bit. In a few days resume your workouts and your body will start responding again.

Why do Shar pei's have loose skin?

I heard from someone that they had the loose skin because people used them for fighting back then. I'm not sure if I think this is true....I'm leaning more toward they have the loose skin for a unique characteristic. Any info on this? It has just been bugging me that last couple of days.

Why do Shar pei's have loose skin?
My understanding is that when bit by another dog they'd just get a mouth full of skin instead of other tissue.
Reply:Shar pei where first bred by the chinese as farmers dogs , later on they where bred as fighting dogs because of the coat and the loose skin made it very difficult for the opponent to get a firm hold on the skin.
Reply:They were bred to protect the emperor of China the loose skin means they can be bitten and it won't hurt them as much, and yes they were bred for fighting.
Reply:The loose skin I believe is actually purely cosmetic. It can give them health problems because it can cover their eyes. The loose skin is just the way people bred them to make them look cuter. Kind of sad if you ask me.
Reply:Shar-Pei have loose skin due to their breading. Yes, Shar-Pei were once used for fighting other dogs. The loose skin prevented another dog from being able to bite and provoke a serious injury. The other dog would only get skin, not a major / minor muscle group. Highly desirable if you are into that. Shar-Pei can still be dog aggressive, breeders have done a wonderful job of breeding out people aggression, however in many lines, dog aggression is still there. Most Shar-Pei are friendly and wonderful pets. They are extremely devoted to the family, are wonderful with children, loyal and somewhat couch potatoes.
Reply:Shar Pei:

Country of Origin = China 1500's. Height 46-51cm.

The bristly coat of this dog is quite distinctive, but the folds of loose skin covering its body and especially its head, giving it a permanent from are by far its most striking feature.

This ancient breed is thought to result from crosses between Mastiffs and a certain Nordic breed. It was in danger of extinction until a Hong Kong fancier established stock in the USA and elsewhere.

The loose skin was originally developed for the gruesome purpose of making the animal impossible to pin down in a dog fight.
Reply:Well, I don't know WHY, but I do know that they grow into it as they get older. It's just loose on their bodies as puppies, but when adults only their faces are very wrinkled.

Why do i have loose skin?

hi im 16 and i see that my skin is loose meaning its strechy and i hate it because it bothers me to think that i might get old lookin faster because of its looseness can anyone help me out to tight my skin and i hate myself i am alway looking for things wrong with me

Why do i have loose skin?
you need to do some weight training that's it......not too hard really!...%26amp; if u dont want to its not really a big deal unless it bothers you that bad!
Reply:That sucks man...there are these lotions for girls that can firm your skin....you could look into that...wish I could help you out more man.
Reply:Drink more water eat more fruit and walk everywhere
Reply:You need to learn to love your body. Try looking at your what you like about your body rather than flaws. And to fix your 'loose skin' try doing exercises that are used to tone your muscles. Your 'loose skin' may just be a little pudge.
Reply:you may have insetieophus, which is a disease and possibly die by your 30. Go to a doctor. The disease could be passed on fmily history or sexually active/sports, etc.
Reply:Are you eating right, meaning keeping the junk foods at bay and more of the good stuff. Are you exercising? At 16 you probably shouldn't have a problem with skin being loose. Your probably need more exercise to build muscle-tone. Work it girl!
Reply:soak your skin in water. Water is the best way to hydrate the skin and get in firmer. Soak it for 15-20 minutes in lukewarm(not hot) water 3 times a week. Apply a very mild skin condition like Aveeno with Oatmeal right after you get out of the bath. Don't bother on the other days. Eat healthy and take a multivitamin. You really should do some sort of strength excercise too. And make sure you are eating protein like tuna.

Will my pregnancy cause loose skin?

I am pregnant for the first time (18yrs old), i weigh 135lbs and i am planning on only gaining 20-30 pounds. After the pregnancy when i loose the weight will my skin become loose

Will my pregnancy cause loose skin?
you can prevent this by using a lotion that contains colagen elastin (i think i spelled that right). skin naturally stretches and goes back on it's own, but this will help increase the elasticity of your skin. Cheers!
Reply:I think for your skin to get "loose" you would have to gain alot more than 20 or 30 lbs and it would have to be for longer than 9 months - so that the skin would actually stretch out to become loose after you shed the weight off - I have a few friends that are in the early 20's with kids and they dont have any loose skin. some stretch marks tho =)!!!
Reply:Pregnancy is different for everyone. A friend of mine never got a single stretch mark and she ate like a hog. I am one giant stretch mark and my stomach has never been the same. The only way my skin is getting back to normal is with a tummy tuck...which I plan on sending the bill to my children lol.
Reply:It depends on your genetics. Some women bounce back no problem but I have a friend that didn't at all(she was 19 with the first, gained 20lbs). She lost all of the weight but the skin never completely went back. There is no way to tell.
Reply:you're young so it will probably go back to normal.

i had my 1st at 20. my skin and body went back really fast (it even looked better!). and i gained 55 lbs in that pregnancy!!!

now, im 11 months post partum with my second at age 26. i have whats called a "flat rasion belly". lots of sag and loose skin =(
Reply:Everyones diffrent. It depends on your skins elasticity. I only planned on putting on 20-30lbs as well but ended up on bed rest and swelled so bad I ended up putting on 50lbs. (oops). Just keep yourself hydrated and hopefully gain 20-30lbs and that all you can do. Most time (but not all times) stretch marks and loose skin are genetic. Ask your mom how she was when she was pregnant.

I have alot of loose skin on my stomach?
Don't try to lose weight. Extra skin doesn't go away by losing weight. Do crunches everyday. It'll tighten up your stomach.
Reply:I have that too.

It's just extra skin. Like when you bend over, it's gone..when you bend backwards it's gone.

Your fine.

Don't go anorexic over it.
Reply:get a professional help instead of making predictions about ur body.
Reply:It's just part of being human. None of us are perfect (what a cliche, huh?) I wouldnt worry about it. You're 13, still growing. It may (or may not) go away. That's just life.
Reply:I used to have that. Don't worry, it will go away as you grow. It's basically just caused by your skin growing faster than the rest of you. So it will 'fill out' by the time you're fully grown. And losing weight will only make it worse - if anything, putting on tiny bit could help.

Had a baby 3 yrs ago have some loose skin, getting lipo will it make me have more loose skin? I'm only 23 so they really don't recommend a tummy tuck and don't want one either.

Had a baby 3 yrs ago have some loose skin, getting lipo will it make me have more loose skin?
Lipo takes care of fat and thats it, get a tummy tuck only if your done having children. Itll look like you never had any!
Reply:I don't really know why you'd get lipo. I think it looks horrible, and lumpy, and if you regain weight it won't go to that area since the fat cells are removed, so it'll make you look all out of whack, but I'd say you might have more loose skin, but not by much.

Sometimes loose skin looks worse because it is weighed down by a layer of fat, which you'll be removing, so it will probably flatten out the area, but the skin probably just won't be as tight. If you're worried about it, maybe see if they'll do CO2 lasering on the area to resurface it (very expensive and painful), or talk to them about Thermage which is more subtle, and mostly used for the face for people who aren't ready for a facelift. It might help a bit.

Good Luck.
Reply:yep
Reply:then get a tummy tuck !!! duhhh ....... hah ah ah a
Reply:I'd thought that a tummy tuck would be performed for the loose skin such as someone who had been pregnant or had lost a lot of weight and had excess skin. I'm not sure how the lipo compares to the tummy tuck and if the lipo is less 'down time' than the tummy tuck. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, please do make sure that the dr is board-certified in plastic surgery. Drs. that are board-certified are said to have a certain level of competency as they have at least taken at a written test and had to get a particular score. Please take good care!
Reply:You're right. A tummy tuck should only be used by people who have lost drastic amounts of weight or women who are sure they are done having children (and at 23 I know most women aren't positive that they're done). The scars are also very ugly unfortunately. Liposuction may help a tiny bit with the loose skin, as you'll be bandage tightly for about a week or two afterwards to help the skin shrink back to un-accomodate the loss of fat. A new treatment, however, is on the horizon called Thermage. It promises to tighten skin and restore it. You can read more about it at: http://www.tummybythermage.com/ . I've heard mixed reviews on Thermage, probably because it's still a very new treatment and they're still tweaking it.

If it's stretch marks you're worried about, I highly recommend the Fraxel laser: http://www.fraxel.com . I've been having it done myself for several months for stretch marks I got when I gained a lot of weight due to being sick. It's helped improve their apperance significantly with the added bonus of helping to tighten my skin up too. Not a drastic tightening/firming but I can certainly tell a difference and so can those around me (and I'm not even close to being done with my treatments). I really can't say enough good things about it. It hurts like HELL (I routinely throw up after my procedures) and is expensive. But the results are definitely worth it in my opinion. So that may be an option you want to consider. Feel free to mail me if you want more info about my experience with Fraxel. Hope this has helped!

Is it possible to firm/tone loose skin?

Hi, I am 27 yrs old and have been very overweight for most of my life. At 21, I dropped about 80lbs on the Atkins diet, I didn't exercise much. I 've tried to exercise on my own, but I can't seem to stick with a routine, so I've decided to join a gym. I've put my money where my mouth is, so to speak, and there is no going back now. I am ready to exercise and be heaither. I've managed to keep the weight off for the past 5 years, but I've gained about 20 lbs over the past year due to stress. I weigh about 140 at the moment. I dropped a lot of weight very fast and my skin sags in certain areas, it is very depressing. My question is, can I firm up the loose skin with exercise? Will it be possible to achieve a flat stomach, firm thighs, and get rid of the flabs on my arms? My friends and family think I have a great body, but they don't know what I look like naked. My body needs a lot od work, and I am willing to work hard, but I need to know is it possible to firm up all the loose skin.

Is it possible to firm/tone loose skin?
umm 80lbs is a lot of weight to drop bravo on that. Using toning techniques 3 sets lots of reps 15-20 using 3-4 different lifting methods for each muscle group ie biceps, triceps, chest, back, legs, yada yada. Coco butter with vitamin e is supposed to be a firming lotion as well you may want to try rubbing that on your trouble spots. Thats the best I can say to do. Best of luck.

Just still flabby fat?? or loose skin??

I was 300lbs in Sept. 06

Changed my ways and am now down to 235.

I use to be in shape when i was 14-17, put alot of weight on for football.

I want to get back down to around 200lbs.

im a 6'2 20year old man.

I eat healthier and exercise alot.

But I still have alot of flabby fat.

Its mostly in my stomach area and sides.

I do have strech marks.

I do alot of situps and crunches and all those.

Im still 35lbs away from my goal weight.

Im wondering is this "saggyness" that I still have is loose skin or just still fat left over?

It has gotten better as I been working out, but cant tell if it will comptlety tighten back up.

It still has flab in it, so im confused if its just stubborn fat, or loose skin??

How can I tell?

Just still flabby fat?? or loose skin??
There's a good possibility of it being both. Stomach fat is hard to tone to begin with, and if you've lost all this weight, depending on how fast it was you lost it it may just be lose skin. If you lose weight too quickly then there's a very good chance its just lose skin. Keep at it, lots of cardio and good posture will help to tigeten up those abs.

Good luck!

How can i loose weight quickly without loose skin?

Want to loose a lot of weight quickly but don't want extra loose skin.

How can i loose weight quickly without loose skin?
Do lots of Cardio (running etc.) and toning exercises to help keep everything tight. But if you lose weight quickly and depending on how much there will be extra loose skin. sorry.
Reply:Depends on how quickly you are talking. Tae Bo worked really good for me but it took 2 months to really see the effects. There are clinics located in different states where you go and exercise and drink some type of vitamin drink and lose between 3 and 5 pounds within a couple of hours.
Reply:No loose skin here! Lost 31 in 30 days then 70 in 60 days then 94 in 90 days and soon 100!!!!! I feel awesome and so much energy! But more importantly I don't have the loose skin thing IT's GREAT Look at the link let me know what you think

Weight loss question: Will I get loose skin once I'm done?

Ok, so, I lost fifty pounds already and I have forty more to go, I'm just wondering, (even though several people have assured me I won't get the loose skin once I'm done) I've seen people get that really loose saggy skin when they are done losing weight, in those cases it was extreme and they were really really overweight older people, but I was wondering if that could happen to me? I'm twenty years old, this is why they say my skin won't go that way because I'm still young BUT nonetheless, I'm still somewhat worried because I was overweight for a long time. So that's my question, thank you for your time.

Weight loss question: Will I get loose skin once I'm done?
First off congratulations! That's great work!

It is really hard to say how much loose skin you will have. You will likely have a bit. But if the weight doesnt come off too fast and you have good genes it may not be too bad. Everyone is different. Especially as you are young, you will have less loose skin than an older person, but you may still have some. It also depends on how well the weight was spread out too, if it was mostly in your tummy, say, and not as much elsewhere then likely that is where you will notice loose skin.

My suggestion to help prevent this is to take up weight training if you arent already. It will help promote fat loss (not to be confused with weight loss), and will help fill out your figure. You arent likely to gain huge amounts of muscle, but toning would help. I lift as heavy as i can safely, 3 times a week, 6-8 different moves with about 8-10 reps X 3 sets.

Good luck.
Reply:Also, thanks to everyone else who answered my question! :) Report It

Reply:That's not something you should have to worry about. Especially if you are exercising on a regular basis.
Reply:If you lose close to 90 pounds, I'm sure you'll have some loose skin. You're going to have a lot of extra skin that will have no where to go. That's a lot of weight; it's another person. I wish you luck and congrats on the 50 pounds. 2D
Reply:Exercise and time will help to tighten you up. Do not worry, I would give yourself about a year of exercise after the loss.
Reply:Losing weight too quickly or unnaturally, as with gastric bypass surgery, is what causes loose skin.

If you lose no more than 3 pounds a week, you should be fine.
Reply:Usually it only happens to the super obese but youth is no defense against it happening. Loose the weight gradually %26amp; you should be fine.
Reply:I have lost just the amount of weight you are targeting to lose -- I have extra skin and a few problem areas still -- anytime you lose large amouts of weight it takes time for your body to adjust

the amount of time your body needs or if the adjustment is even possible depends on many things - how fast was the weight was lost, how healthy are you, your exercise level, so many factors not even a doctor can tell you exactly when the process will be done

here is the plan I decided on for me -- I am almost to my goal now and even right now I have alot of areas to work on -- after reaching my goal I plan to give myself 6 months to a year %26amp; then visit a plastic surgeon -- I know that having lost over 1/2 my body weight I will need to go under the knife, but if that is what it takes to free myself from that fat person inside me I am more than willing to do it and if surgery is what it takes I will.

So don't think about what will happen, make a plan and work within that plan.

Good luck

Quick weight loss causing loose skin?

So, I'm 19 years old, female, 5'5"... and I've been overweight pretty much my whole life, the lowest I ever remember weighing was 150lbs.

Anyway... In January, I was 203lbs.... and now, 6 months later, I'm down to 165lbs... I cut down on calories (1,500 per day) and I ride my bike at least two miles every other day, and do other various workouts throughout the week. I've been really motivated, and excited about my recent weight loss... but someone told me that rapid weight loss (like mine) causes your skin to become loose and causes a bunch of stretch marks.... is this true???! I've noticed a few stretch marks on my hips and breasts, is this the reason? Or would I still have the same results with my skin if I were losing weight more slowly? Of course I don't want stretch marks and I especially don't want saggy skin.... what can I do?? Please help.

Quick weight loss causing loose skin?
Actually, 50 lbs in 60 months is reasonable. If you don't have loose skin yet, you probably won't have to worry about it. You have youth on your side, and if you drink lots of water and continue to exercise, that will help as well. As for stretch marks - don't worry too much about them. They will fade with time. Lots of women get them, even thin women (if they had a growth spurt as adolescents or after pregnancy).

Congratulations on your weight loss!

All this loose skin has totally killed my self esteem?

I'm 17 and I lost 50 lbs in 1 year. I'm 5'8 and 133 lbs. I have loose skin on my chest and tummy and it makes me so self concious and brings me down constantly. I even thought about suicide because I realized that I wont be normal like all the other other boys and have a nice body which is why I lost weight in the first place. If I told my parents to pay for a tummy tuck or whatever they'd probably laugh in my face. I really dont know what to do?

All this loose skin has totally killed my self esteem?
i would do push ups, sit ups, and get muscle...you need to show them you have it all..
Reply:You probably just need some muscle tone. You're a young guy and your skin should still have some elasticity. Just start lifting weights, running, and eating enough protein.
Reply:I know exactly how you feel. I recently lost 72 ponds and now i have an unsightly swath of loose skin on my chest and around my tummy ( and stretch mark form having kids) I am only 24 and the idea of having to go through the rest of my life hiding under tons of clothes, ( especially after all that hard work) is almost unbearable. Whats even worse is that when i was really heavy, my mom bribed me to loose weight saying she would pay for a tummy tuck. Now that i have lost double the amount of weight she said i had to loose, she has refused to pay for it. I can't really hold it against her. The operation is very expensive, but it hurts all the same. Good Luck. Don't let this undermine your motivation to be fit and thin.

I have a friend that is in the same situation. Since you really can't do anything about it don't dwell on it. In time you will be able to get what ever body treatment you want for yourself. All you have to do is set this goal for yourself. And keep it to yourself if you think someone will laugh. It will onlly give you stregnth knowing that you are in control. You can work and "save money" towards the tummy or body lift. I'm not sure with one you might need. In one year's time you could probably save up for one of them. Keep that in mind %26amp; DON'T give up hope!

Will I have loose skin after I reach my goal weight and my body fat is at a normal level?

I am 21 years old. I weigh 145 and I am 5'1. I just recently lost 45 pounds. My lower stomach and around my belly button looks like I am going to have extra skin once I reach my goal weight (120-125). My belly button doesn't look tight and when I sit down I can see little wrinkles. Is there ANY way I could lose the extra pounds and not have any loose skin? I would like answers from people with experience! Thank You!.

Will I have loose skin after I reach my goal weight and my body fat is at a normal level?
You are young, so you will be just fine. Just make sure that you are exercising as you lose your weight. Sometimes if you lose weight very quickly you will notice that the skin won't be as tight as it once was. Since you are young everything should go back into place. Keep up your good work, keep exercising to tone yourself up, and stick to a sensible diet. Slowing down the weight loss will give your skin more of a chance to go back to its normal tone. When I was your age I was able to lose 60 pounds. I did it slowly by making smarter food choices and I exercised all the time. Everything went back into its place. It took time and work. You should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations on your weight loss success!
Reply:I seriously doubt it. You weren't that heavy and you are young. Your skin will snap back. Loose skin happens on old people (30s-40s+) with emormous amounts of weight. Like 200 lbs.
Reply:Unless you lose hundreds of pounds, it will stetch back to it's original shape with exercise in a while.
Reply:use creams on your skin every night like cocoa butter, this will help smooth your skin. start working out more and work on toning rather than weight loss, you should cycle between toning and losing. Rapid weight loss isnt good for you anyhow.
Reply:Considering that you are 21, it will probably tighten back up. It takes longer for your skin to shrink than it does for you to lose fat. It will be fine.
Reply:I've heard that only happens when there is an extreme instance of weight gain to weight loss. With your age and the numbers you've given, I don't see that happening to you. Read about it here:

Reply:you will have loose skin but at your age not much.. check out Plastic surgery before and after or DR 90210 on TV.. many people have to get cut after loosing 20 or more lbs.
Reply:Well....a way to prevent it is that....when u exercise some people do get the extra skin but if you drink skim milk daily it tightens the skin and makes it so u dont have the extra skin hang ....and not 2% or 1% but SKIM MILK....lol..good luck...cuz after all the hard work of losing weight its just dissapointing to know thhat u have that left..so good luck
Reply:if youre only 21, and just loosing 20-25 lbs., the skin should become firm again. at your age, the skin still has a lot of elasticity. what may cause skin to sag is if you lost the weight extremely fast, or if you were grossly overweight (which you werent). the best way to avoid the sag is to lose the weight slowly(1-1 1/2 lb. per week is best), and to keep your muscles toned, to keep your stomach small by reducing the amount consumed at each meal (you might have to eat smaller but more frequent meals), and to keep your skin firm, it needs to be well hydrated by drinking plenty of water. exposure to UV rays and smoking both cause skin to lose elasticity.

1) lose the weight slowly

2)eat small meals (5-6 small as opposed to 3 large)

3)do muscle firming and toning exercises

4)dont smoke, and dont lay in the sun

5)drink plenty of water
Reply:145 is actually healthy for 5' 1". Especially for a woman,

which I ain't. However, I have lots of female friends and relatives, (doesn't everybody?) and many of them have faced similar issues, and talk about them, and I listen.

Also I have some medical background, and the physical training I got in basic training included issues like this.

The skin is loose only for a little while, and then if you have done a crash diet and lost a lot of weight at once. I can see where 190 would be unhealthy for somebody your height. Even my height of 6' 1" would be pushing it. 145 is an excellent weight.

And your health is going to affect your appearance more than the other way around.

What you need to do now, is take the current weight as a plateau, and take the time to level off and slow down a bit.

The other thing is that your abdominal muscles aren't tight, which affects the skin. The little pouch effect is really not fat, just loose muscle. Sit ups are a way of tightening them.

Also walking, doesn't have to be extremely fast but walking a lot actually uses the big muscles in the buttocks and thighs and calves as kind of an auxiliary to your heart, they actually pump blood as well.

Which takes an extra bit of strain off the heart.

Congratulations on losing a full third of your body mass.

Now the secret is to take it slooowwwww...

Take the extra time to contemplate how good you feel and look, (of course, it will take away from the time you had budgeted for worrying, but hey, we all gotta make some sacrifice) and figure (bad pun) out where you want to go with the rest of it.

Keep up the good work.

Fat or loose skin?

I lost a lot of weight....about 3o pounds......but I still have flab on my thighs and stomach....I'm not sure if this is fat or loose skin... on other parts of my body, I'm bony ...........so I'm not sure.......Thanks!

Fat or loose skin?
its probably fat...its not like you did gastric bypass, i'm assuming. do squats and lunges with free weights in your hands. also try doing ballet barre. when i was taking ballet for 10 years, my legs were very toned.
Reply:Squeeze it. If it stretches back out quickly, it is some fat left over. Do weightlifting to tighten up everything.
Reply:it's most likely flabby skin if you lost the weight fast.
Reply:ya
Reply:its most likely fat, how did you lose the weight? if you lost it by dieting and not much excercise then you need to workout to get everything tight. turn the fat into muscle.
Reply:i think it is loose skin you can have it removed congrats on the weight loss!
Reply:eww loosey
Reply:It depends on how much you weigh now in comparison with your height and muscle content....but very likely, it could be loose skin.
Reply:it depends! Heres a suggestion...do some yoga and on top of eating right and your daily routine, try some flexability training. Weather it's loose skin or fat it doesn't matter, you'll build muscle and tone down sure thing.
Reply:you should have been working out while losing weight in order to keep that skin toned. now, the only answer is the same answer: workout but it is going to be harder now.
Reply:try toning it up and then if that dont work go to see a doctor
Reply:It could be either one, or both. If it's skin, there's not a whole lot you can do about it. If it's flab, working out with weights, and doing crunches, squats and lunges will help you tone. You should go ahead and try to tone anyway.
Reply:Its most likely fat .You have to be extremely obese in order to have extra skin, and even then you would have had to lose a massive amount of body weight in order to have skin hang loosely off of your body,Not just 30 lbs.Keep up your diet but combine it with a regular exercise including some cardio
Reply:If you lost weight the wrong way (fad diet), it is loose skin.

Don't worry. It will go away when you gain 90 pounds due to ruining your metabolism.
Reply:you need to workout, cardio, jogging, and lift weights to get your skin tight.its not going to happen quick though give it a while to see improvement.

Stretch marks??? Loose skin???

i'm overweight right now, and i'm trying REALL HARD to lose weight... i've been on my plan about a good 3 weeks or soo...

however i'm just now noticing just how many stretch marks i have from getting fat, and i'm starting to worry that i'm so big, that when i DO lose the weight i'll have loose skin (ugh)

i'm 5'9, 19, 240 (target weight is 170), and i have stretch marks, like, EVERYWHERE... mainly on my stomach, but some light and small ones on my back, waist and arms.

is there ANYTHING that can be done for me after i lose the weight? or am i just gonna be thin with an UGLY A** torso???

Stretch marks??? Loose skin???
sure. do a lot of cardio.(running etc) This way you won't have any left overs. tone it down with small weights. Eat properly. Gradually decrease your bodies' weight together with increasing the rate of metabolism, and you shouldn't have any problems. Don't just change yourself physically. Its much more important to change mentally. thanks.
Reply:well if you do have lose skin.. after you lose all that weight.. then you could always go to the doctor.. and they remove it.. exactly what kinda diet are you on??
Reply:liposuction, or maybe cellulite creme
Reply:if you re 19 your skin may bounce back most of the way it will just take time after you reach your goal and have given the skin time to tighten up you may need cosmetic surgery
Reply:First off, Liposuction will NOT remove extra skin or improve the appearance of cellulite. The fade marks will fade on their own and usually end up a tad lighter than the rest of your skin. I myself had a baby last July and the last 2 wks of the pregnancy I EXPLODED with stretch marks. Most of them have completely faded. I too have extra skin. That will be dealt with by having a tummy tuck when I'm done having kids in a few years.

As long as you keep the weight loss slow and steady, no crash diets and major weight loss, the skin should retract some on its own. I am 5'10'' and 220...with a target of 180. I have lost 24 lbs (as of today) over the last 6 months.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race! Good Luck!

Stretch marks and loose skin on tummy??????

hi, i had my baby 3 months ago, but am left with quite deep stretchmarks below my belly button and slightly loose skin, is there anything that can be done to improve either of these, like tightening up the skin and fading the stretcharks.....

please also tell me your experience

thank you x

Stretch marks and loose skin on tummy??????
Palmer's Coca-butter for the stretchmarks. but for the loose skin tightening up only comes from the physical exercise. and stimulate the toning with the lotions.
Reply:just work out, or get sugery....

hope i helpedddd :]]]]

best wishes for your baby :]
Reply:I am only 13 but i am going through the same thing with the strech marks.. i am not pregnant.. try useing coco butter
Reply:I had my second child 4 years ago. I have horrendous stretch marks and lose skin. I am slim and toned everywhere else but there is no cure, other than surgery for the lose skin. The stretch marks do fade in time and I think there is some sort of lazer surgery you can have to get rid of them. A tan helps also. Sorry to be negative but its the truth im afraid. All the best for you and your new baby
Reply:Time
Reply:cocoa and shea butter helps with these issues can be purchased from many chemist

best is the combined cocoa and sheabutter but if no luck finding this together buy seperate bottles and mix the cream then apply

two boys who gave me a huge bump and left me with stretch marks looking like london underground map

i use cocoa and shea butter i find it great and it smells lovely too also good for softening skin so why not use all over

good luck
Reply:For the stretch marks get some bio-oil it is made to fade stretch marks and scars, i swear by it, it is so good. It costs about £8 for a small bottle but it lasts a very long time. i use it for my operation scars on my legs that are really bad and it does work. For the slightly loose skin try doing sit ups and more walking, it tightens and tones the skin it worked for me. Hope these ideas help you in someway GOOD LUCK :)
Reply:One of the most effective surgeries for women with stretch marks on their stomach from a pregnancy is a tummy tuck. The tummy tuck gets rid of extra skin and fat, making the stomach tighter and nicely shaped. In the process of this skin removal, stretch marks below your belly button are usually removed as well.

Another option is laser surgery. This type of stretch marks surgery is generally only for people whose stretch marks are still colored red or brownish. If your stretch marks have faded to more of a flesh color the laser will not be able to detect them. This surgery is effectively able to remove damaged skin and stimulate collagen growth, but may not always completely eliminate stretch marks.

Laser surgery can also become incredibly expensive. Each session can cost as much as $1000 or more, and depending on how quickly your skin reacts to the surgery, you may need multiple sessions of laser surgery before your stretch marks fade or go away.

If you are interested in more effective ways of getting rid of stretch marks, you can read abt them from this site: http://stretch-marks.my-fashion-house.co...
Reply:Hi there.. Don't feel too bad.. Your baby's only 3 months.. you're probably still breastfeeding.. and have realised that having a baby changes not only your entire life.. but your body..

Look on the bright side.. you have a beautiful baby.. that's priceless..

I myself... have the same issues... stretchmarks and loose skin above and below my belly button.. I exercise, watch what i eat and am back to pre-pregnancy size (if not smaller). I even went to see a plastic surgeon re: a tummy tuck.. and after seeing the pictures of scarring after a tummy tuck - i could not go through with it.. plus it was going to cost $10k.

Not all women have the same problem with stretchmarks and loose skin.. it all depends on the elasticity in your skin.. (it's in your genes).. no amount of cream or oil (during pregnancy) could have stopped stretchmarks and loose skin..

In time.. your stretch marks will become less obvious,, your loose skin (if your lucky) will bounce back (and if not)... then you could always consider your options..

Give yourself some time to adjust to being a new mum.... it's all worth it at the end... ;)
Reply:The most effective way to handle this problem is to follow a proper care routine that prevents their occurrence. You can either use olive oil, flaxseed oil, vitamin E oil or cod liver oil for the purpose of massage. Check out http://useinfo-stretchmarks.blogspot.com... for more useful info.

I have loose skin from a c-section, whats the best way to get rid of it?
skin is elastic, but only to a point. If you have excess skin, chances are you are going to have to see a plastic surgeon. It won't melt away like fat does. Don't be too hard on yourself though, many, many women who have been pregnant have this problem.
Reply:see a plastic surgeon? i mean, you can't just cut it off yourself...
Reply:hi! for the extra skin you'll just have to wait until your body adjusts :/ there's really nothing more you can do - creams and 'cures' for it really don't work. just keep your skin moisturized to keep it healthy and so it grows/adjusts at a good rate. for the extra fat- keep yourself hydrated too! drink lots of water, and lower your sugars while keeping up vitamins and healthy foods. increasing your water intake while decreasing your sugar intake will help you lose the little bit of weight in no time. good luck~
Reply:You are young. (2 kids already?!)

I can tell you, be patient, that your skin will change more and more for the better soon enough...don't get too frustrated. It takes awhile to heal from surgery not to mention the pregnancy before it.

Eat healthy (lot's of fruits, veggies, lean protein---skinless, boneless chicken, kidney beans, and 'good' carbs-- brown rice, whole grain breads, limit 'add ons' such as salt, butter, oils, animal/vegetable saturated fats) and eat in moderation (fist size portions for most items ---practically limitless for fruits and veggies!) for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and drink 6-8 glasses/bottles of water every day (the water sounds simple, but is truly amazing for your skin!)(cut out high sugar drinks such as koolaid, colas, certain juices). If you can't work-out alot (2 kids---I understand), then do some stretching and light weights at home in the livingroom. Start with stretching and use the light weights for arms, squats %26amp; lunges for legs %26amp; butt, and good old crunches for your belly. AND walk with the kids...whether it's around the yard for 20-30 minutes or in a neighborhood or parkl...get a good pace going and do that at least 3 times a week (every other day is good!) and work up the pace and amount of time when you can (after a week or 2). You will see progress. Just take care of yourself and be patient! Take care.
Reply:Eat regular, healthy meals. Carbs (yes potatoes are okay to eat), breads, cereals, Proteins--fish, chicken, beef, cheese, veggies--green beans, carrots, etc., fruits--apples, oranges, watermelon, honeydew, etc. It's okay to have a piece of cake or pie-not more than once a week-and only one slice each time. Or, three cookies, per week.

Also, please drink 8 - 8 oz glasses, or 4 -16-20 oz bottles of water per day. Being properly hydrated helps keep your energy level up to normal.

Do not skip any meals. And, you don't have to eat breakfast foods for breakfast. You can have any meal at any of the three times of day-you can have breakfast for dinner, and dinner for breakfast.

As for the abs-you can do crunches, not sit ups.

Any other concerns regarding that portion of your body, please talk with your dr. about it.

Take care.

Is it possible to get rid of loose skin naturaly without surgery?

I've lost over 50 pounds in about 4 and half months and have a lot of loose skin, I started out at 216 and am down to 159, is it possible to get rid of the loose skin naturaly without surgery? I work out every night at home doing push ups and crunches, and was wondering if the loose skin would tighten up if I continue to do this routine

Is it possible to get rid of loose skin naturaly without surgery?
Congratulations on your weight loss!! But the loose skin depends on how big you were and how long you were that way, once the skin stretches, it looses its elasticity, but exercise can help take a little away, though not all of it
Reply:Nope don't think so a friend of mine her mom lost mega weight %26amp; she had 2 have surgery to get the excess skin gone.Good Luck
Reply:No unfortunately once the skin is stretched out you can't get it back into it's original shape. I had two boys and gained about 80 pounds with each. I got back to my normal weight after but the skin on my stomach didn't. I had to have surgery. I did diet and exercise like crazy before to no avail.
Reply:.......DUCT TAPE....other than that........ surgery, see your Doctor
Reply:depends where the loose skin is more than likely you'll need surgery
Reply:i don't think it will all go away. but i would like to know how you lost all that weight in that time. i just had a baby and my tummy is all flabby from being stretched but i still got the weight i put on
Reply:I'm so sorry to break it down to you, but at this point you won't be able to get rid of that excess skin. Skin looses it's elasticity when it's streched too far, so it won't shrink back; specially when you loose weight too fast (like you, 50lb in 4 months).

I know many indivuduals that have undergone WLS (bariatric surgery) and have done the body contouring surgeries and they're all very happy with the results. Let me know and I'll send you more info...

Good luck!
Reply:Unfortunately I dont think so just because you lost 50 lbs in four months. They say the slower you loose weight the less drastic change your body has. Also once the skin is streched no matter how skinny you get, the strectmarks and loose skin will be there. But anyhow congrats on your weight lost and keep it up.

What helps loose skin tighten up after wieght loss?

I have lost 30 pounds in the last three months and have a loose skin problem on my stomach, upper arms and upper thighs. I am working towards loseing another 50 or so pounds. Is surgery the only answer or are there lotions or creams that would help me?

What helps loose skin tighten up after wieght loss?
Skin is not fat. Skin develops and envelops the fat. It grows as one's fat grows. However, it does not "shrink" as one loses weight, especially to the degree you have lost. Toning surrounding muscles is a great way to enhance your appearance, but all the people I have heard of required/chosen surgery to remove the extra skin.

There is no harm in waiting a year or two to see how things progress, but that may be your most effective option.

Good Luck!
Reply:I think that surgery is the only way if you have excess skin.
Reply:Some lotions can work a little. The best thing to do, though, is tone the muscle under the skin. Do 2-3 sets of reps with a lighter weight (whatever makes your muscles tired after about 15 reps) about 3 times a week or so. I had the same problem but when I started toning muscle and not just losing fat, my skin firmed back up.
Reply:how did u do it
Reply:Exercise everyday like jogging around the block

Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day

Dont eat until you're full

Eat fruits at night if your hungry.

Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

There are more tips and info.

there's a video on success fitness too.

Weight loss and loose skin?
The best range to lose weight in is 1 to 2.5 lbs a week. This will allow your body to accustom itself to the loss and the skin to regain its prestretched stage. Losing weight too quickly will cause the skin of abdomen, chest and inner thighs to sag, possibly dramatically. I don’t personally believe in any of the fad diets that keep showing up. I think that they put your body into an unhealthy famine mode which will cause you to gain the fat right back if you start to eat normally again. The best idea is to eliminate all junk food. You can do a cheat day if you need to but don’t go overboard. Eat balanced meals of reasonable size. Overeating will cause your stomach to be too large and you will still feel hungry when you’re not. Also have lots of healthy snacks during the day. Ideally you’ll want to eat 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day. Carry food with you so you aren’t tempted to eat unhealthily when you’re out of the house. And don’t buy unhealthy foods. Get foods that are low in bad fats—we do need fat to survive but not saturated fat. Minimize the processed flours and sugars, no white bread, no sugar. Choose leaner meats and protein sources. Don’t expect to eat pizza and burritos all the time and lose weight. And eat tons of vegetables. Eat salads, steamed vegetables and raw vegetables too. You can’t eat so much celery that you’ll get fat. Don’t eat too much fruit or things containing high fructose corn syrup. The reason is that fructose is hard on the liver because it can only be metabolized there. You can eat fruit during or after a workout. Don’t eat late at night because your body will turn it into fat. Eat a smaller amount of calories than needed to maintain your weight. You have burn more than you intake. Always exercise. Cardio especially, but weights are good too. Don’t give up. You’ll be glad you chose to lose the weight.

Im 15 years old ansdloosing weight? Loose skin?
I think you will be okay because of your age. Good job! Just keep exercising as your losing and as long as you don't lose too fast you shouldnt have loose skin, thats the key!
Reply:You will be fine you were not so much overweight as to have loose skin, I use to be 300 pounds and lost over 140 pounds and I have some stretch marks but no loose skin...
Reply:how tall are you? as long as you lose the weight before age 40, you should be fine. really.
Reply:Your young skin is very unlikely to sag but make sure you weight train to really keep it tight.
