How to get rid of loose skin?

I recently (well, over the course of a year) lost 120 lbs. It feels great to loose all the weight, but now I have another problem.

I have a bunch of loose skin on my waitline area, where my gut used to reside. And when I say a bunch, I mean...well, not to gross people out, but it's just not flattering. Don't get me wrong...It's not hideously digusting, but it's a problem to a point where I still kind of fret going in public places with my shirt off, even though I've started get muscles on my arms and chest. My stomach, however is a different story.

I don't wanna get plastic surgery because it will leave a scar on my stomach. But I want to get rid of the loose skin around my waistline. Can somebody help?

How to get rid of loose skin?
You don't need plastic surgery just to remove excess skin. They can cut it off, but you will have a scar. There is modern day techknowledgy to heal the skin together without having stitches such as like a special "band aid" (lack of the real name)...and a glueing that can be done. No matter what, you will have a scar, but it can be minimumized.

Their is no other way to just "lose it". I was a weight lifter at one time and stretched the skin because I bulked up alot. After quitting, I had lose skin and what is called from lifting is "bitches tit". Through the years the skin tightened, but never the same. Good luck. I'm sure you will get replies about special creams also that are exspensive, but I don't believe you would get the result you want or need.
Reply:you should do alot of ab strengthining exercises over time it will tighten your stomach
Reply:Maybe try doing cardiovascular work and exercises that target that area. Eventually, it may go away.

Will loose skin be an issue?

I have been put on a program by my doctor to lose 50 pounds by about the end of March.

I heard losing a large amount of weight tends to leave people with loose skin. Will I probably get it?

I am 14 years old and male, if that matters.

Will loose skin be an issue?
being as your body is still growing and developing there should not be a problem -- in time any loose skin will tighten

as I teenager I did alot of yo-yo dieting loosing and gaining mass amounts of weight and I did not have any problems with loose skin until just recently when I wised up and stopped yo-yoing

good luck on your journey
Reply:Hmmm - any time you're losing a dramatic amount of weight you risk getting loose skin. BUT since you're so young, your skin still has plenty of elasticity. Just be sure to exercise along w/ dieting.
Reply:No, loose skin should not be an issue for you. You are very young, so your skin is still very elastic. The issue of loose skin is generally for older adults, people who have been severely overweight for many years, or those who are morbidly obese, and those who loose weight too quickly.

Make sure you drink lots of water while you diet, it will help aid weight loss, improve your overall appearance, and keep your skin elasticity for years to come.

Good Luck.

If I have loose skin from being pregnant will I be able to tone it up?

I weighed 105 when I first got pregnant went up to 160 then after the baby I weigh now 120 but the skin on my stomach got loose it looks like a grandma stomach and it looks like i have extra skin...if I work out will I be able to tone it up...I'm not too worried about the stretch marks cuz believe it or not they are not too bad its just the extra skin...what can i do besides a tummy tuck? do you think I could still tone the stomach

If I have loose skin from being pregnant will I be able to tone it up?
Yes, you should be able to tone up but it might take awhile. I've had two babies and my tummy looks better now than it did before. Keep your weight even and do your exercises. Walk a lot when you can (I know it's hard when you have small children). Use moisturizer on it - supple skin will tone better than dry. Good luck!
Reply:YOU CAN TONE YOUR STOMACH BUT THE LOOSE SKIN MIGHT BE A PROBLEM MY EX WIFE HAD A TUCK BECAUSE OF ALL THE EXTRA SKIN AND SHE GOT INTO INCREDIBLE SHAPE AFTER THE BABY BUT THE LOOSE SKIN WOULDN'T GO AWAY. SO SHE GOT A TUCK AND NOW IT LOOKS GREAT.
Reply:it takes alot of time to get back into shape. this article has some great tips on helping with stretch marks and weight loss programs and exercises that should help

German Shepherds, what causes loose or tight skin?

I have 2 female German Shepherds 1 year old. One has loose skin that moves all around when you rub her and the other has real tight skin that doesn't move much at all when we rub her. Does anyone know what causes this? They are both close in weight with the loose skin dog at 65 and the tight skin dog at 70.

German Shepherds, what causes loose or tight skin?
It's a genetic elasticity of the ligments. May or may not have something to do with the chances of devloping hip dysplasia symptoms (unproven theory).
Reply:I DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR QUESTION ONE THING FOR SURE THAT I LOVE GERMAN SHEPHERD BUT BOTH OF MINE TURNED OUT BITING SOMEONE BECAREFUL I AM JUST WARNING YOU

I have loose skin on my abdomen from loosing a lot of weight, is there any way to get rid of it? Please Help.?
if you want to get ur abdomen toned that wil get rid of the loose skin do abs sit in a sona take Red Line or Hydroxycut Hardcore to help out a little more if you want to get rid of it quick
Reply:Did you lose the weight quickly? I don't know of any miracle cure, other than plastic surgery. Good luck to you!
Reply:When the engine belt on your car gets loose and worn out, they can replace them, or spray a treatment on them to shrink it. Since you can't replace your skin, I would say go to your mechanic.

It's either that, surgery, or laying in salt water.
Reply:have showers alternating the heat of the water, or better, cold showers, every day. they tighten up the skin gradually. and keep exercising, it keeps your skin young.

MY penis loose skin?

My loose skin at the end of my penis the foreskin..was vert loose but in the last 5 months has become very tight. and i think it very strange is there anything wrong with it or is that normal...

P.S i can pull it back like i could before..i'm getting really concerned about it

i'm to shy to go to my GP about it

MY penis loose skin?
When you shower, slide it back the most you can without forcing it. Then rub the head. This can encourage it to stretch.

If that fails, you can order online or ask your GP for 0.05% betamethasone cream. (it's rather inexpensive). It works in almost 95% of cases.

You might be able to get away with it by just asking for that cream and not having to show your parts to him/her. In the UK (I assume that's where you're from since you say GP) almost all guys are uncircumcised and circumcision is left as a last resort since it reduces sensitivity and pleasure, and makes masturbation more difficult.

And as always, you're welcome to contact me if you have any questions. =)
Reply:Its growing man.
Reply:your using the wrong hand cream. try butter
Reply:SO tell hundreds of people instead lmao,

;-)
Reply:There is no way over the internet that anyone can give you an answer about what's going on with your foreskin. There's no reason to be shy seeing the GP, it's not like they haven't seen these things before. Although it's a part we ordinarily keep to ourselves, it is after all, just another part of your body like your nose and ears. If you want an answer from somebody who knows, who can assure you that you are okay or offer help if it's not, then make the appointment and go see the gp. He's seen them before, he will see them again. He won't even remember yours by the time you've left the office. And if you think it's something he's never possibly seen, then you really should give him to chance to advance medical knowledge and let him have a peek. Just go make the appointment and quit stressing.
Reply:there is nothing wrong, possibly your penis had grow bigger that causes the foreskin to be tight. If you are still unrest about it. seek a doctor advise.
Reply:stop rubbing it as much it might not get as sore then
Reply:maybe you should go to the doc and talk about getting cut...... this will solve your problem...then you do not have to worry about it getting to tight and have pain trying to get your foreskin down.
Reply:too shy to go to gp but its ok to tell the world, lol. but maybe if its uncomfortable a circumsision might be in order.
Reply:I guess you may be a teenager and your penis is developing faster than the foreskin. If this condition goes unchecked and you are unable to roll back the foreskin for cleaning you will have a serious hygiene problem. See your GP
Reply:Foreskins are uncomfortable, unhygienic, unattractive to women and inhibit sexual sensation during intercourse for both the man and his female partner. Circumcision is the answer and you should arrange for your GP to refer you for the procedure - the sooner the better!
Reply:you need to do stretching exercises and use topical steroids.here are the links.
Reply:Sounds like you need a circumsision, go and talk to your doc.
Reply:I know you say you're shy to go to the GP but believe me they've heard and seen everything before so you won't be the first and you certainly wont be the last to suffer with this problem.

Or you could try a GUM clinic/Sexual Health clinic but they may turn around and refer you back to the GP anyway.

If the skin is getting very tight don't force it as it could tear and you could be letting yourself in for infection so take my advice really go to the GP. You'll be thankfull you did in the long term.
