My pet turtle has some loose skin?

My pet turtle has some loose skin around his legs and neck. It floats in the water when he swims. Is this a sign of shedding or molting? He has been eating a lot lately.

This is normal. Turtles like snakes shed old skin to make room for the new skin. Your turtle is growing which is very good. Try getting a Cuttle Fish Bone (The white thing birds peck on). You can buy them loose at a PetSmart or Petco for about a dollar. Your turtle can eat this and will get lots of calcium for it's shell (which also sheds by the way). Just make sure not to get the kind with the metal on it or at least take it off before giving to the turtle. Let it float in the water and the turtle will do the rest.
Reply:chances are he's just getting ready for hibernation.
Reply:talk to your vet.he mieght be dieing
Reply:This is totally normal if it happens only a couple of times every few months. Make sure the water is not to hot and it is ALWAY clean. sometimes turtle may show some problems/sickness and that may not be evident until they are REALLY sick. Shedding means that he is growing :) Make sure also that you are giving your turtle a variety of foods to help with their skin. Pelletts, cooked chicken, lettce, cantelpope are some good choices.

Good Luck
Reply:I AM NOT REALLY SURE ,BUT TRY TO GIVE VITAMINS ,THEY ARE VERY IMPORTANT !

GIVE IT SNALES ,THEY ARE GOOD IN PROTEIN !

IF YOU LOVE YOUR TURTLE PLEASE...

GO TO A VET !!

IT NEEDS YOU ...

IT DOES NOT WANNA DIED ON YOUR HANDS !!

GOOD LUCK !!
Reply:The loose skin is called fluffing. It is a sign of growth. Be careful how much you are feeding your turtle. A turtle can grow to big for it's shell.
